REGULAR EVENTS 2007
DGPS provide monthly Open Floor events and monthly Guest Nights. Currently these take place on the first Wednesday of the month (Open Floor) and the third Wednesday of the month (Guest Night), in the Everyman Bistro, third room, Hope St, Liverpool
Occasional variations may occur e.g. when a guest poet is unable to make a Wednesday evening, or we book a larger venue, so please keep an eye on our publicity.

DGPS also run two Poetry Reading Groups, one at Central Library in Liverpool, and the other at Bebington Library on the Wirral. These run monthly on saturday daytimes, but for short seasons (e.g.September - May) Please contact the co-ordinator for more information on these.

DIRECTIONS: Everyman Bistro Third Room, Hope Street. If you are coming from the town centre follow Renshaw Street up the hill into Hardman Street; at the traffic lights with the Philharmonic Hall turn left - go towards the Catholic Cathedral with the spiky crown roof, and the Everyman Bistro is on your right. This is a fifteen minute walk from town or a five minute taxi ride. Buses are 80, 86, 75, leaving from St John's shopping centre every 5-10 minutes - ask to get off by the Philharmonic Hall)

ACCESS is down a flight of stairs and the room has a cabaret seating set-up. More and more regularly we are using a PA system, but you do not have to use the microphone if you are uncomfortable with it.
Food and drink are available from the Bistro, and the venue is open until midnight.
 
Our doors open 8pm for an 8.30 pm start, although the remainder of the Bistro is open from lunchtime onwards. We ask for £1 donation on Open Floor nights, and usually £3/ £2/ £1 on Guest Nights.
However a very big name / venue costs, etc. might push the charge up.

POETRY READING GROUPS

Liverpool Central Library: 2nd Saturday of each month. The Hornby Room, 2pm - 4pm. Free.

Bebington Library: 3rd Saturday of each month, 11am - 1pm. Free

Saturday 11th November
Guest Poet, Dinesh Allirajah will give a short reading, followed by a discussion of two of his poems and two poems by poets he finds inspiring.
The Hornby Room, Liverpool Central Library. 2pm - 4pm. Free. Refreshments provided.

Saturday 18th November
Guest Poet, Gill McEvoy will read from her latest collection and discuss two of her poems, and two by her favourite poets.
Bebington Library, 11am - 1pm. Free. Refreshments provided.
